United Way Partners Again with The Design Channel for New Initiative

Agency to develop branding tools for Financial Empowerment Center program

Washington, DC, August 24, 2016—David Franek, president of The Design Channel (TDC), announced today that the United Way of the National Capital Area (UWNCA) has extended its relationship with the agency to create brand communication tools for a new program aimed at helping individuals gain greater control over their financial lives. The Financial Empowerment Center program will offer high quality financial services free of charge in locations throughout DC, Prince Georges County, Montgomery County, Fairfax County, and other areas in the region.

“We’re delighted that UWNCA has asked us to be a part of this exciting new program,” said Franek. “We’re proud of the work we’ve done in the past few months for the organization and look forward to continuing to help it make a positive difference in many communities.” TDC recently created UWNCA’s 2015 annual report as well as various marketing materials for UWNCA’s Do More 360 program.

Financial Empowerment Centers feature a wide range of professional financial services to individuals and families with low to moderate incomes. The first center opened earlier this year at Prince George’s Community College with services that include financial coaching, small business coaching, financial workshops, tax preparation, housing counseling, and many others. To support this center and others to come, TDC will develop brand identity tools including a logo, tagline, brand look and feel, and possibly on-site collateral materials.
