Agency claims three awards for work in education field
Washington, DC, January 23, 2018—David Franek, president and chief creative officer of The Design Channel (TDC), announced today that the firm earned three MarCom Awards for branding and design assignments completed in 2017. TDC received a Platinum Award for a brand campaign it developed for Lowell School, a Gold Award for a comprehensive branding campaign for Germantown Academy, and another Platinum Award for an arts program brochure for the College of Southern Maryland,
“Receiving these awards was made possible by having clients who are willing to take risks and embrace bold messaging and visual approaches,” said Franek. “We’re proud of the awards, but we’re also thankful to be partnering with great people and institutions who push us to create impactful branding and marketing platforms.”
TDC’s work for Lowell School, an independent PreK–8 school in NW Washington, D.C., included a new positioning, theme line, and message platform as well as a website redesign and a fresh look and feel that was incorporated into a viewbook, print ads, and other materials. The assignment for Germantown Academy, an independent PreK–12 school outside Philadelphia, PA, also included positioning and messaging assets as well as a comprehensive series of mini-brochures, poster fold-out brochures, individual cards highlighting unique aspects of the school, a “look book,” a brand style guide, as well as consultation on visual elements for the school’s new website. The arts program brochure for the College of Southern Maryland provided an exploration of the college’s visual and performing arts offerings and events for the 2017-18 season.
