TDC a Big Winner at 2015 MarCom Awards

Agency claims six awards for client work in diverse fields

Washington, DC, December 29, 2015—David Franek, president and chief creative officer of The Design Channel (TDC), announced today that the firm earned six awards at the 2015 MarCom Awards, a major international competition for the marketing communications industry. TDC received two Platinum Awards, the top honor; two Gold Awards; and two Honorable Mentions for creative work spanning health care, scientific research, immunology, substance abuse, and economic development.

“We share these awards with our clients,” said Franek. “These honors wouldn’t have been possible without our partners’ willingness to take risks and embrace bold messages and visual approaches. The awards are also a testament to the hard work and fresh thinking of our creative and account staff.”

TDC received Platinum Awards for branding work that established a new look and feel, identity, and messaging platform for SURA, an association supporting collaborative university research programs, as well as for an annual report design for Ballston Business Improvement District (BBID). TDC also garnered Gold Awards for its “Sprains to Stitches” TV spot for Patient First and for the “Take Back My Life” multi-channel campaign on opioid abuse for the Frederick County (MD) Health Department. Honorable Mention citations were awarded to recognize TDC’s work for the American Association of Immunologists and the Johns Hopkins Medicine “A Woman’s Journey” health conference.
