Radiology Association Hires TDC for Comprehensive Brand Architecture Assignment

Society of Interventional Radiology looks to redevelop its overall brand ecosystem

Washington, DC, March 8, 2022—TDC president and chief creative officer, David Franek announced today that the firm will soon be working with the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) to establish a new branding architecture for the association’s comprehensive portfolio of programs, products, events, and services. This assignment will be the latest in a series of projects that TDC has engaged with SIR since 2019, spanning new product branding and marketing, annual meeting branding, annual reports, and more.

“We’re thrilled to be continuing our relationship with SIR with this assignment,” said Franek. “I know that the organization is eager to add greater clarity and visibility to its numerous branded offerings, and we can already see some opportunities to achieve this. We are ready to dive in immediately.”

As SIR’s membership, programming, and education offerings have grown over the years, so has the number of corresponding sub-brand identities and visual marks. This proliferation has occurred with minimal strategic direction for maintaining brand cohesiveness, resulting in widely varying logotypes, identity presentations, and familial themes—all of which SIR seeks to address through its engagement with TDC.

TDC’s development of a new SIR brand architecture will take place across several phases. An initial project—the naming and identity development of SIR’s video library that will house a wide selection of SIR’s educational content—is already underway. The next phase will involve a thorough examination of SIR’s education ecosystem to determine pathways for calibrating visual identities across the full portfolio. These will also include strategies for renaming and repositioning offerings.

An ensuing phase will include development of a sample assortment of identities and follow-up refinement, review of SIR’s website design elements, recommendations for an approach to redesigning core SIR program identities, and development and design of a comprehensive brand architecture reference guide. All elements of the new brand architecture are anticipated to be completed by late 2022.
