Nation’s Leading School Dropout Prevention Organization Taps TDC for Assignment

Communities In Schools enlists agency to design national resource guides

Washington, DC, August 20, 2019—TDC president and chief creative officer David Franek announced today that Arlington, Va.-based Communities In Schools (CIS) has engaged the agency to design materials that enable public and charter school educators to support at-risk students. CIS coordinates programs across the country focused on providing schools with access to community resources that can help reduce dropout rates and remove obstacles to students’ academic success.

Franek said, “Communities In Schools is the largest organization in the country dedicated to helping students stay and thrive in school. It fills a critically important need in our society for guiding and supporting young people facing daunting challenges both inside and outside school. We’re excited and proud to be a part of this effort with CIS.”

TDC will be developing a comprehensive digital resource guide, as well as a quick-start version of the guide, that provides CIS-sourced content, links to articles and videos, and other tools that educators and administrators at CIS-affiliated schools can use to specifically address diversity, equity, and inclusion issues in their environments. TDC will design these guides to reflect the current CIS brand look-and-feel and will have the materials ready for national rollout by fall of 2019.
