National Medical Organization Awards Multiple Assignments to The Design Channel

The Society of Interventional Radiology looks to TDC to market online curriculum and to design annual report

Washington, DC, November 26, 2019—David Franek, president and chief creative officer of The Design Channel, announced today that the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) has tapped TDC for two major assignments. One will involve developing a marketing communications strategy for SIR’s new curriculum product called Residency Essentials, which is a multi-year online didactic curriculum for interventional radiology trainees in medical residency programs. The other will be designing SIR’s upcoming annual report.

“This is an exciting opportunity to work with an organization that is at the forefront of modern medicine,” said Franek. “There is a rapidly growing need today to enhance the training of medical professionals in image-guided therapies and minimally invasive treatments. We’re looking forward to helping SIR establish Residency Essentials as a standard component of interventional radiology training.  At the same time, we always enjoy annual report projects and we believe we can help SIR create a compelling narrative of its most recent achievements and vision for the years ahead.”

TDC will implement a discovery phase for its Residency Essentials work that will include a discussion with key leaders at SIR; additional information gathering may include interviews with the Residency Essentials product development team and society members. Insights from these will be applied to a positioning statement, messaging platform, and brand theme line. These foundational elements, in turn, will then be incorporated into content and a design look-and-feel supporting a Residency Essentials landing page, email template, print advertising, social media, collateral materials, and a wide range of other marketing assets. The campaign is scheduled to be rolled out in February 2020.

The annual report will focus on SIR activities and accomplishments in 2018–2019 and will be aimed primarily at SIR’s membership of interventional radiology physicians, research scientists, medical students, professional trainees, as well as corporate supporters. The report will be available exclusively in a digital format and is scheduled to deliver in early March 2020.
