TDC Captures Top Honors for Wide Range of Campaign Branding Work

Communicator Awards of Excellence received for assignments in independent education, capital campaign, and annual meeting branding

Washington, DC, May 14, 2020—It was announced today by David Franek, TDC president and chief creative officer, that the agency was the recipient of three 2020 Awards of Excellence from the Communicator Awards, an international program honoring achievements in marketing communications.

The three Gold Awards recognized TDC’s branding work for Burgundy Farm Country Day School, an independent Pre-K to 8th grade school in Alexandria, Va.; for Morehouse School of Medicine’s capital campaign; and for the Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU), a Better Business Bureau’s National Program overseeing responsible children’s advertising in the U.S.

“One of the best things about our business is being able to work with organizations that advance our society in vastly different ways,” Franek said. “I believe that the opportunity to play a small part in helping to make the world a little better gives us even more motivation to engage audiences in a personal, emotional way, and I think our efforts here reflect that.”

The work for Burgundy was informed by a comprehensive discovery program among internal and external stakeholders, and encompassed multiple websites and collateral pieces incorporating assets developed by TDC, which included a new brand look-and-feel, signature line, logo, and message platform. For the Morehouse School of Medicine capital campaign, TDC created a striking visual presentation and theme line (“The World Needs What We Do Best”) that laid the foundation for a campaign website, a 50-page brochure anchoring the campaign, as well as an assortment of collateral materials and event support tools. The CARU work centered on a new brand platform for the organization’s first-ever independent annual conference and was featured on the conference microsite, a sponsorship prospectus, on-site environmental graphics, and online banner ads.
