Medical Society Coalition Enlists The Design Channel to Elevate Branding

CMSS looking to enhance visual impact of marketing materials

Washington, DC, January 17, 2024—It was announced today that the Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS) has chosen TDC to create more compelling and impactful branding for its marketing efforts. CMSS comprises more than 50 organizations representing more than 800,000 physicians across the country with the mission of strengthening the expertise and collective voice of specialty medical societies to advance healthcare.

The engagement will involve the development of a wide array of branding assets. These include a new CMSS logo as well as logos for several sub-brands, and a comprehensive brand standards guide. In addition, TDC will create a stationery system, a PowerPoint template as well as graphics for social media and online marketing.

TDC president and chief creative officer David Franek said, “As an association of medical societies, CMSS naturally represents and evokes knowledge, collaboration, and expertise. We look forward to creating a brand presentation that articulates these elements in an expressive and memorable way.”

The new branding system will be applied to communications that support CMSS’s strategic priorities. These include growing engagement with its communities, building new capacities, enhancing the sharing of learning and innovation, and strengthening coordination and collaboration in addressing critical issues in medicine.

About Council of Medical Specialty Societies

Founded in 1965 as the Tri-College Council, Chicago-based CMSS was created to provide an independent forum for the discussion by medical specialists of issues of national interest. It adopted its current name in 1967 and has dedicated its voice and influence to empower medical specialty societies in numerous ways. These include providing a community for various societies to learn from one another; accelerating the skills and impact of medical society leaders; amplifying the reach of specialty societies; connecting member organizations with research and funding opportunities; and investing in smart-scale solutions to serve evolving needs.
