The Design Channel opens offices in Washington, DC, and Baltimore, MD

Firm Focuses on Branding and Integrated Communications

WASHINGTON, DC./BALTIMORE, MD, August 15, 2003—Officials of The Design Channel, LLC, a new design, branding and integrated communications firm, today announced that it has opened offices in Washington, DC and Baltimore, Md.

The newly created firm will specialize in providing branding and integrated communications programs. “Our staff has more than 40 years experience in the Mid-Atlantic and national markets,” said David Franek, president of The Design Channel. “Over the years, we have consistently heard from a variety of businesses and government agencies that they prefer to work directly with senior, qualified creative staff and designers, rather than go through a complicated, multi-layered bureaucracy. Our business strategy is to be a highly responsive, service-oriented firm that provides proven problem-solvers who have an in-depth knowledge of their business and deliver great creative work.”

The Design Channel will provide a full range of integrated services, which include helping companies define their brand and its positioning, identity programs, marketing and advertising campaigns, corporate communications, including annual reports, collateral and newsletters, and interactive media.

The Design Channel staff has significant experience in a number of diverse industries and with a variety of governmental agencies, including financial services, technology, hospitality, education and life sciences. Franek has extensive experience in both Mid-Atlantic and national markets. Most recently, he was president and chief creative officer for MHI Communications for four years, and prior to that he ran Franek Design Associates and Modus Interactive Group for 10 years. Other key staff members include Cory Farrugia, who has been in the advertising agency business for more than 20 years and has accumulated a roster of experience ranging from Fortune 500 companies, member organizations and B2B, to high tech, associations and government agencies. Erin Craft, art director, has worked extensively in the areas of branding and identity development and design, annual reports, marketing collateral and exhibit design.
